A kid who looks about 12 or 13 walks up to the counter at the arcade I work at.

Me: What can I get for you?

Kid: A bag of chips and an iced tea

I grab both items and place them on the counter.

Me: That will be 3.50

the kid puts a two dollar coin on the counter and looks at me.

Me: That’s 2 dollars, I need another 1.50.

Kid: Uh, you’re not allowed to get 2 things for that much?

Me: it’s just how much they cost, the chips are 1.50 and the drink is 2 dollars

Kid: Oh well how much can I get for that much?

Me: Just the drink.

The kid reaches into his wallet and takes out a dollar.

Kid: Can I get two things for that coin and this one?

Me: No, it’s still not enough, it’s 3.50

Then he reaches into his wallet pulls out a 20

Kid: will this be enough?

Me: Yeah, that’s plenty…
