So I went to the doctor yesterday. She ordered a slew of tests, including the one for Celiac’s, along with Colitis, ulcer bacteria and many others. She says it’s likely I have IBS, which is not cool and also means I need to change what I eat drastically. Oh, and the pill I’ve been taking every day for acid reflux, can cause bone loss and types of stomach cancer if taken longer than a year. So, I need to cut out:

  • Coffee, Tea
  • Anything Spicy
  • Sugar
  • Fat
  • Anything Acidic, like tomatoes, citrus, peppermint
  • Chocolate (/cry)
  • Alcohol

Essentially everything I LOVE. The fat and sugar I can handle, but spicy food is my weakness. I prefer flavors that punch me in the face, so to speak. So now I get to be a consumer of all things bland. A bland-ian as Ryan calls it, and I’m not looking forward to it. Also, no caffeine? I might as well pack my bags and move out to avoid the inevitable confrontation between Ryan and I when the “Liz is uncaffeinated and it’s your fault it’s morning” monster emerges.
