Summer Bounty
The season had been good to us this year, the kitchen is coming along nicely and the garden is doing very very well. Last year we delved into the world of gardening without much experience and the mistakes we made only helped us learn what not to do this time around. I planted a small patch of peas this year, worried that the pumpkins would take over, (which they did) So todays harvest was small but enough for a meal or two which is great. I’m hoping for another batch in about a week or so as well.

pretty pretty peas
We also had a fair amount of tomatoes ready from our tumbler hanging basket, I’m making a tasty Jamie Oliver’s Tender and crisp chicken legs with sweet tomatoes for dinner tonight, and i might just throw some peas in for tastiness.

As mentioned before, my pumpkins are taking over. Luckily the peas will be finished long before fall when the pumpkins are ready. Jenni warned me they would take over, so I only put in one plant. This is what happened:

oh hai pumpkins.

Side note: I’ve cut them back quite a bit already.
