I leave in a week and I’m in serious panic mode, hence the lack of posting. Eating wise, things have been mediocre, I still have a stomach ache every day which the doctor thinks might be a side effect of the meds I am taking, but the side effects of not taking them are just as bad. Soooo, not much I can do.
I see my trainer tomorrow. It will probably be my last workout before I leave which...
Hey peeps, I need some good travelling music to fill my iPod for the trip, reccomendations?
Ugh.
Well all my tests came back normal, which means I’m not Celiac, I don’t have Collitis and I don’t have an ulcer. This is all very good news but it also makes me think:
What the hell is wrong with me?
I actually felt near tears when the receptionist gave me the news, because it means I am no closer to finding answers than I was 2 weeks ago. With the trip happening in just over...

Liz's Artichoke How To
Or, What Liz does when she has a final tomorrow and is procrastinating.
Kim (@ohsosinister) asked me this yesterday:
“Heeeeey Liz: How do you do up your artichokes? I’ve only ever had artichoke hearts from, like, a jar. Ha ha. Teach me your ways and recipes! :)” Here we go!
Artichokes have been my favorite vegetable since my parents introduced me to them as a kid. They...

WIW & GPOYW
Start Weight: 237
Last Week: 226.3
This Week: 224 (-2.3)
Total Loss: 13lbs
Losing 20 feels so damn close. I know I can do it before I leave on my trip. This week will be nothing short of perfection. I’m even going to bike to school.
GPOYW: This is me on Halloween last year, not sure if I posted this photo yet, but can any of you guess my costume? It’s pretty easy. Oh, and...
Personal training was EPIC! Best part?I got home and Ryan was still asleep, it made me feel so productive.
How do you morning people do it?
I woke up at 430 am today! I have a training appointment at 6. Ugh, mornings and I don’t get along, but at least I got some eggs, strawberries and lots of water in my system to keep me going!
Also, Couch to 5k? Yeah, I got past the first maybe 10 minutes then gave up because my asthmatic lungs DID NOT like me. We did walk around the river for an hour though, it was a good substitute.
Well...
Phew
Rediculous post-human/modernist feminism take home final is finished (I actually had a lot of fun writing it) and my brain is on gogogogoggo mode. It will not shut off and I am SO WIRED. Also, I forgot to eat supper. Problematic.
A clarification:
Mom, C25K stands for Couch to 5k, its a running program of sorts. Ryan and I are NOT biking 25 km tomorrow. Love you!
Taking a break
From writing about post humanism and feminist cyborgs in film. It’s for my take home final that’s due tomorrow. Interesting stuff but I’d like to get it over with.
Tomorrow after I hand in my paper I’m going to try C25K with Ryan on his lunch break. I downloaded the iPod app to guide us and we are going to hit the trails down by the river! I’m so excited because...

Screw you, pasta.
I woke up this morning at 6 am with a killer tummy ache (I blame the pasta I had for dinner) and could not get back to sleep which is the only reason on earth that I would be awake at 730 am on a Saturday. Ugh. I am TIRED. I even tried to go back to sleep with no luck, so here I am.
Despite this, I am determined to get some vitamin D and exercise in today by taking my bike out and enjoying the...

“Any product recommendations for someone with hypothyroidism? My hair is so dry and frizzy no matter what I do! And it breaks a lot too.”
That’s a tough call. Hormones can do a serious number on a persons hair, and sometimes products/techniques don’t help. BUT: Have you tried Nioxin? It’s a brand for people with thinning hair but works well if medication or...

Ten Hair Product Recommendations
I’ve wanted to do a post like this for awhile, but after visiting the beauty supply store today, and commenting on @lovelyisbest’s shampoo post I figured today would be a good day.
Product knowledge is something I always gobbled up in school and working in the salon. I LOVE hair product. So much so that I have more than I know what do do with and often give away stuff I don’t...
lovelyisbest-deactivated2010072 asked: Hey. I just wanted to say watch out for that IBS diagnosis. A lot of doctors use it as an umbrella diagnosis for when they either don't know what you have or don't think you could have something. A lot of Celiac's are just told they have IBS because the doctors don't believe them (a lot of over weight people especially). So that's good you're getting tested for it....
Bland-ian
So I went to the doctor yesterday. She ordered a slew of tests, including the one for Celiac’s, along with Colitis, ulcer bacteria and many others. She says it’s likely I have IBS, which is not cool and also means I need to change what I eat drastically. Oh, and the pill I’ve been taking every day for acid reflux, can cause bone loss and types of stomach cancer if taken longer...

For all you iPhone and iTouch users, do you have any health and fitness apps you would recommend?
can any of my followers answer this?
Yes! the more info the better!
For all you iPhone and iTouch users, do you have any health and fitness apps you would recommend?
Hooray!
A few months ago I was a dumbass and put my beloved iPod touch through the laundry, ruining it beyod repair. Yesterday, Ryan came by work to visit me and right after I expressed how tired and stressed I was, he pulled out a brand new one from his coat pocket! A guy from his office won one at a conference and gave it to him since he already had one. That means free iPod for Liz!
The tumblr app is a...

Last Time: 227
Loss: .8
Total loss: 10.8
I’ve been hovering around the same for awhile now, which is why I didn’t post my weigh in last week. I can’t seem to break past the plateau, although considering how I’ve been eating recently I’m surprised I didn’t gain 5 lbs.
Grats to everyone who’s weighing in today!
Green Monster Madness
I just made my first Green Monster after coveting @chocolatecocoaaddict’s smoothies for the past few days. It is so much better than I expected!
I used:
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 kiwi
1 activia peach yogurt cup
3 handfuls of spinach
water
YUM!
EDIT: oops! looks like I forgot to add some flax seed! I well try this next time.
One of those days
Its cold and pouring rain and I’m currently sitting my my car waiting for Ryan to show up with an air pump because I have a flat tire.
Sunday
Last night’s party was fun, a good number of awesome people came out and much alcohol was consumed. Only downfall was that after dinner, my right eye started getting itchy and sore. I thought it was just a reaction to my eye makeup but my friend who’s an optemetric assistant took a look and it was discharging some gross yellow-y stuff and was totally blood shot. Being drunk I...

Avoidance
Today is the last day of classes for the term, I still have 2 papers to finish and hand in and probably won’t do so until mid next week. Instead of getting up early and to work on them I slept in, watched ANTM (not proud of this) and did some reading for my last International Development seminar tonight. I still haven’t exercised in over a week, and I’ve got a feeling that...
Goals for the rest of the week
Get some exercise, aside from the one training session I have scheduled on Friday
Finish the last two term papers
Go to bed and wake up at reasonable hours.
Eat healthy, unprocessed real food.
Reduce gluten intake
Get tested for food allergies
Keep the damn kitchen clean.
I’ve been having some tummy issues lately, and I’m convinced it’s a food allergy of some kind....
If you'd like to recommend me →
It would be a great birthday present! Nothing like a recommendation to make me forget that I’m officially 27 today. (Closer to 30 than 20, ugh)
But of course, only if you feel I deserve it! :)
Ryan and I spent a lot of time enjoying the holiday and nice weather yesterday and we even went on our first spring bike ride. We didn’t go very far, but I was huffing and puffing the entire time. Clearly my asthmatic lungs are not used to exercise outside yet, or it could be because I haven’t been working out much. (ya think?) He did mention that I was going way faster than last year,...
In 45 minutes I’m doing an over the phone interview for a position that may change my life. This is really intense, and I’m trying to be calm while I drink my coffee, eat my oatmeal and wait for the phone to ring.
I’m distracting myself by browsing eShakti and it’s working, but my wallet will be a little lighter as a result. hehe.
I’m totally buying this dress.
